Rome - Sicily - Amalfi - Rome

This is our grandest tour to Italy to date with a full 11 days travel in Sicily exploring and enjoying the wonders of this ancient and intriguing land. And to really put the cream on this wonderful experience we then spend a relaxing and yet invigorating 5 days in and around the magical Amalfi coast.

There are so many attractions in this area of southern Italy that after 16 days we will be longing for more.

 

Leave Rome behind as we fly south to Catania airport on Sicily's east coast and travel Sicily in a land which has hosted all comers for thousands of years. We will see and wonder at the legacies and influences of the Greeks, Arabs, Spanish, Norman, Etruscan, Roman and Jewish occupants. Our tours to Italy will include a magical sea voyage around the Aeolian islands off Sicily's norther shore. But no one could travel Sicily without enjoying the food, wine and architecture which has evolved over centuries as many civilisations fought and cooperated to produce a wonderous land for our pleasure.

The second part of our tour will take in the highlights of the Amalfi and beyond while based in beautiful Positano. We can be amazed by the beauty and wonder of Paestum, Pompeii, Capri, Caserta and Herculaneum. We will be intrigued by the wine, cheeses, seafood, Gelati and limoncello.

 

The wine, history, food, antiquities and beauty are only some of the treats we will experience in this magical exploration of Sicily and Amalfi.
